Abigail Chang - The American Orchid Society 2007 Awards from the Pacific Northwest Judging Region

Abigail has been an active member in our society and the Mount Baker society for many years. I can remember when she became a student judge and how she enthusiastically learned all of the necessary information to become a fully certified judge. For those of us that have received AOS quality awards, we can appreciate the dedication that is necessary to become a certified judge. At the July meeting Abigail will be presenting a program that will cover the AOS quality awards given in our region over the course of 2007. The slide show, highlighting Mike Pearson’s photos, will be a treat and show off all the orchids that have been awarded and shown in our area. Bring your wish list and listen for a few familiar NWOS members that have received an award.

Display Table:
Bring your blooming orchids so everyone can enjoy them plus get a chance to win a ribbon!

Sales Table:
Members may bring up to 10 plants to sell. Include a tag with your name and the price in the plant

Raffle:
Win a new orchid for your collection.

AUGUST MEETING

NWOS PICNIC & ORCHID SWAP:

Featuring Chef Jamie’s BBQ skills - the society will provide burgers, but you can bring other BBQ items.

Bring a sidedish, salad or dessert and any orchids you want to sell, divide or give away!

Directions to picnic: The picnic is back in Seattle this year, in the Wallingford neighborhood. Take I-5 to the 50th Street exit and head west on 50th. Turn left on to Sunnyside and the parking lot will be on your right. Follow the archway through the Tilth Garden to the Picnic Shelter.
